Deep Root Information

Deep Root Fertilization

Well-nourished trees and shrubs have better resistance to disease, insect attack and drought. J & J Tree Care’s deep-root fertilizer can help keep your trees and shrubs healthier, promoting the luxurious foliage that adds beauty and value to your property. It is injected directly into the root zone area for maximum benefits. Its low salt index and slow-release action won’t burn delicate feeding roots, so nutrients can be applied more economically.

Deep Root Watering

When trees and shrubs don’t get adequate water all sorts of damaging things can happen to your landscape. It becomes stressed and stressed plants are more susceptible to insects and disease. Leaves or needles can drop. Trees that cost hundreds or thousands of dollars to replace can suddenly go into decline if the critical water shortage is not corrected.  Deep root watering is the solution to ensure your trees and shrubs receive the needed amount of water to stay vibrant and healthy. We use a mixture of water and Yuccah natural plant extracts that provides moisture to the soil and enables your landscape to stay healthy.

Insects And Disease

Insect/Disease Control

Damage and destruction caused by insects and diseases can severely limit the ability of the trees and shrubs in your landscape to manufacture the sugars and substances needed to remain healthy. As a tree’s health suffers and declines, the odds for defoliation and death sharply increase. A specialized J & J Tree Care Plant Health Care program for trees and shrubs is the most logical step toward managing the spread of harmful insects and devastating diseases.

IPS Beetle Control

The Ips beetle begins by infesting the top of trees. Thousands of beetles will infest a tree, killing it rapidly within one season. The beetle feeding in the wood will cause total disruption of water flow to the needles causing them to dry-out.  Spruce needles drop off green while pine needles fade to brown. This will happen without warning and once discovered there is no treatment to save the tree.  To prevent Ips beetle infestation, Spruce trees should be sprayed 2-3 times each year, once in the spring, once in the summer, and if necessary (due to warm weather), once in the fall. Pine trees should be sprayed once in the spring and once in the summer.  Watering is essential during all seasons including winter. Fertilization recommendations may also be necessary.
